About The Author
Lina Basile is a teacher, artist, and poetic memoirist whose work transforms lived trauma into lyrical narrative. She holds a teaching degree and an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts, and has spent decades nurturing children, caring for animals, and living close to the land. Her voice is shaped by fire, literal and metaphorical, and honed through years of reflection, creative work, and public healing.
She is not a celebrity. She does not have a viral following. What she has is a story that burns with truth, and a voice that refuses to be silenced. Her authority is earned not curated. She writes from the margins, where survival is not spectacle but necessity, and where beauty is carved from hardship with bare hands.

Next Foot Forward is an extraordinary personal account of healing from trauma with kindness.
